Formed in 2012 the Sequim Community Orchestra has grown to around 50 musicians, of all ages, who come together to improve our performance skills and to experience playing in an orchestra. Most of us studied music in school, then moved into a career, and now are returning to, and rediscovering our love for orchestral music. Many of us picked up our instrument at a more advanced age and are pursuing a desire to do something we've always wanted to. Also represented in the orchestra are young musicians who wish to augment their school orchestra experience, or are home school students and we ARE their orchestra. In any and all cases we welcome and encourage musicians of all ages to enjoy rehearsing, and performing orchestral music with us. This orchestra is designed for orchestra musicians of intermediate skill. Though we do some performing during the year, our focus is on learning, and growing as musicians.

The SCO is also sponsoring an after school string program for youth.

Rehearsals for the orchestra are on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm in the James Center for Performing Arts in Sequim. School-age youngsters, adults and seniors are all encouraged to join the Sequim Community Orchestra. Musicians don't have to live in Sequim. A number of players from both Port Angeles and the Dungeness Valley have expressed interest.
